Quick answer
Which cryptocurrencies can I use to pay for a domain?
BuyDomainsCrypto lets you pay for a domain with crypto in 6 coins on 7 networks. BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH, SOL and LTC. You top up a dollar balance from $25, then pay any domain from it, with no KYC. A .com costs $11.49/year, whatever the coin.
Pay with each cryptocurrency
One page per coin and network: confirmations, address format, fees and the registrars that accept it.
Which network does each coin use?
Each coin is accepted on one network only, except USDT, which works on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20). The payment page shows the network next to the address. Your wallet or exchange must use the same one.
| Coin | Network | Confirmations | Address format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | Bitcoin | 2 | Starts with bc1, 1 or 3 | On-chain only; Lightning is not accepted |
| USDT | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | Starts with T | Self-custody wallets need a little TRX for energy |
| USDT | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | Starts with 0x | Gas paid in ETH |
| USDC | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | Starts with 0x | Ethereum only: not USDC on Solana, Base or Polygon |
| ETH | Ethereum mainnet | 12 | Starts with 0x | Not on Arbitrum, Optimism, Base or other layer-2 |
| SOL | Solana | 1 | Base58, 32 to 44 characters | Native SOL only; SPL tokens are not accepted |
| LTC | Litecoin | 6 | Starts with ltc1, L or M | A block about every 2.5 minutes |
TRC-20 vs ERC-20 vs Solana: which is cheapest to send?
For a small top-up, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or SOL on Solana usually costs the least to send. The fee goes to the network, not to BuyDomainsCrypto, and the domain price is the same whatever you choose.
- USDT on Tron (TRC-20): a transfer uses Tron resources (energy and bandwidth), paid in TRX. From a self-custody wallet, keep some TRX next to your USDT. An exchange withdrawal charges its own fee instead.
- USDT or USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20): every transfer pays gas in ETH. Gas changes with network load, so the cost of the same transfer varies from hour to hour.
- SOL on Solana: the fee is usually a small fraction of a cent, which makes SOL the cheapest coin to send for a small amount.
- BTC: the fee depends on how busy the network is and on the size of the transaction, not on the amount.
- LTC: low fees, and 6 confirmations usually take about a quarter of an hour.
Want a stable dollar value? Pick USDT or USDC: the amount to send is the dollar amount, to the last decimal.
How do I avoid sending crypto on the wrong network?
Match three things before you send: the coin, the network and the exact amount. Funds sent in another coin or on another network cannot be recovered.
The usual mistakes:
- USDT on BNB Chain (BEP-20). Some exchanges suggest it by default. Pick Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20) instead.
- USDC on Solana, Base or Polygon. Only USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20) is accepted.
- ETH on a layer-2 such as Arbitrum, Optimism or Base. The 0x address looks the same on every one of these networks. Only the Ethereum mainnet is accepted.
- A Lightning invoice instead of on-chain Bitcoin. Send a normal Bitcoin transaction.
- A fee taken from the amount. Some exchanges deduct their withdrawal fee from the amount you type. The payment is matched on the exact amount, so check what will arrive.
In doubt, write to [email protected] before you send, not after.
Can I pay from an exchange such as Binance or Coinbase?
Yes, with a normal on-chain withdrawal to the address shown, on the exact network. Any wallet or exchange works if it supports that network: USDT on Tron (TRC-20) is the most common choice on exchanges.
Internal payment systems of an exchange, such as Binance Pay, are not accepted. Only a blockchain transfer can be checked and credited. The exchange fee comes on top of the amount to send.
Which payment methods are not accepted?
BuyDomainsCrypto takes crypto only, on the 7 networks above. Not accepted:
- Monero (XMR) and Bitcoin Lightning;
- BNB and any BNB Chain (BEP-20) token;
- Polygon, Arbitrum, Base and other layer-2 networks;
- cards, PayPal and bank transfers.
No card means no card check and no chargeback. It also means a payment cannot be reversed: send carefully. Paying without a card is explained in buy a domain without a credit card.
Accepted cryptocurrencies
In our check of 15 registrars on 8 October 2026, none of those that list USDT named the network they accept. BuyDomainsCrypto names it: Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20). Compare in the crypto registrar matrix.

How payment works
Top up $25 or more
Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.
Send it to the address shown, on the exact network
The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.
Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”
Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how your payment is found and matched to your account automatically. Nothing else to send us.
Credited after the network confirmations
Your balance is credited once the network has confirmed the transaction. Usual times:
Crypto Network Confirmations Usual time BTC Bitcoin 2 ≈ 20 min USDT Tron (TRC-20) 20 ≈ 1 min USDT Ethereum (ERC-20) 12 ≈ 5 min USDC Ethereum (ERC-20) 12 ≈ 5 min ETH Ethereum 12 ≈ 5 min SOL Solana 1 ≈ 1 min LTC Litecoin 6 ≈ 15 min One balance for every domain
If you started from a domain search, the domains in your cart are registered automatically as soon as the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, but it is not refundable.
Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.
Paying for a domain with crypto: FAQ
Which crypto is best to pay for a domain?
USDT on Tron (TRC-20) is the usual choice: the amount is in dollars, the network fee is low and the credit takes about a minute. SOL is the cheapest coin to send and is credited after 1 confirmation. Bitcoin works too, with 2 confirmations, about 20 minutes. The domain price is the same in every coin: $11.49/year for a .com.
Do you accept USDT on TRC-20 and ERC-20?
Yes, both. USDT on Tron (TRC-20) is credited after 20 confirmations, and USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) after 12. Pick the network on the payment page and the same network in your wallet or exchange. USDT on BNB Chain (BEP-20), Polygon or any other network is not accepted. Details: pay with USDT TRC-20.
Do you accept Bitcoin Lightning?
No. BuyDomainsCrypto accepts on-chain Bitcoin only, credited after 2 confirmations, usually about 20 minutes. A Lightning invoice cannot be paid on the payment page. For a fast, low-fee payment, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or SOL are credited in about a minute. See pay with Bitcoin.
Do you accept Monero or BNB?
No. The accepted coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, on the networks in the table above. Monero (XMR), BNB and BNB Chain (BEP-20) tokens are not accepted, and neither are Polygon or layer-2 networks. Coins sent on an unsupported network cannot be recovered, so check the network before you send.
How long until my crypto payment is credited?
It depends on the network. SOL and USDT on Tron (TRC-20) usually take about 1 minute. ETH, USDT ERC-20 and USDC take about 5 minutes. LTC takes about 15 minutes and BTC about 20 minutes. The domain is then registered from your balance, usually within minutes.
Is there a fee for paying in crypto?
BuyDomainsCrypto adds no fee for paying in crypto or in stablecoins: the domain costs the price in the table. You pay the network fee of your own transfer, which goes to the blockchain. With USDT or USDC, the amount to send is the dollar amount, to the last decimal.
What is the minimum I can pay?
The minimum top-up is $25. That covers two .com registrations at $11.49 each. The domain price stays the same whatever coin you use. You can top up more to cover renewals, transfers or several domains at once. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, but it is not refundable.
What if I send the wrong amount?
The payment is matched to your account by its exact amount, so send exactly what the payment page shows, to the last decimal. Make sure your exchange does not deduct its fee from that amount. If something went wrong, write to [email protected] with the coin, the network, the exact amount and the time you sent it.
