Buy a domain without KYC

No passport, no selfie, no documents, at any amount. One thing remains, because ICANN requires it from every registrar: a working email for the domain contact, verified and kept private.

Quick answer

Can I buy a domain without KYC?

Yes. BuyDomainsCrypto lets you buy a domain without KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents, at any amount. You pay in crypto (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC) and a .com costs $11.49/year. The only check is the one ICANN requires from every registrar: a working registrant email. It is verified within 15 days and kept out of public WHOIS where the registry allows it.

What does BuyDomainsCrypto never ask for?

We never ask for identity documents, whatever you buy and however much you spend. That means no:

  • passport, ID card or driving licence;
  • selfie or video check;
  • proof of address or company documents;
  • phone number check by SMS or call;
  • card or bank account, since payment is in crypto only.

There is no verified tier and no spending limit that triggers a check later. Support never asks for secrets either: We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat.

What does ICANN still require when you buy a domain?

A verified email, and nothing else. ICANN rules apply to every registrar, with or without KYC, and to every gTLD such as .com, .net and .org.

  • Email verification. Under the Whois Accuracy Program of the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement, the registrant email or phone must be verified within 15 days of a registration, a transfer or a change. Without an answer, the registrar must verify manually or suspend the domain. At BuyDomainsCrypto, the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days).
  • A real email. We collect one email per domain, nothing else. A fake or dead email gets the domain suspended.
  • Private by default. Since 21 August 2025, ICANN's Registration Data Policy keeps personal data out of public lookups by default.

Privacy is legal, and we make it the default: one email, nothing else.

Which domain registries check identity?

A few registries run their own identity checks, whatever the registrar. BuyDomainsCrypto does not sell these extensions:

ExtensionRegistry ruleSold here?
.dkPunktum dk may require ID verification (photo ID, proof of address, selfie) on a risk basis✗
.cnCNNIC real-name verification: passport for foreign individuals, company certificate for organisations✗
.ruSince 1 September 2026, holders must verify their identity through the Russian Gosuslugi portal✗
.inIdentity verification (e-KYC) within 7 days of a registration or renewal (2026)✗

Which extensions does BuyDomainsCrypto refuse to sell?

Some registries require more than an email: an ID or tax number, residency, a local link, or the holder's name and address in their own records. Our rule is one email per domain, nothing else. Where our company can be the holder, we sell the extension registered in our name only; where it cannot (residency, nexus, ID number), we do not sell it. Each one has a page that explains the registry's rule.

Which registrars ask for ID?

Some well-known registrars that accept crypto do ask for an ID in some cases. The table shows what each one says on its own pages, as of 8 October 2026. Where a page could not be opened, we say so.

Yes. ICANN rules ask registrars for a verified email, not for an ID, and privacy is a legitimate need. No KYC is about privacy and speed, not about hiding abuse. Our official policy:

  • No takedown on a complaint alone. Copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court (foreign judgments must first be recognised in Panama).
  • Your data only goes out on a Panamanian court order. Not to a foreign lawyer, a private company or a foreign government without Panamanian legal process. The only exception: urgent requests that ICANN rules require registrars to answer (imminent threat to life, serious bodily injury, critical infrastructure, child exploitation).
  • Strict exceptions. Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims (fake shops, investment and crypto scams, wallet drainers, impersonation of a bank or brand): suspension within 24 hours of a well-documented report. Child sexual abuse material: suspension immediately, with a report to the competent hotline or authority.
  • Trademark disputes follow the UDRP, as ICANN requires: the domain is locked within 2 business days of a request from a UDRP provider, the registrant details are confirmed to the dispute provider, and the panel's decision is applied.

What happens to registrars that ignore real abuse? Trustname marketed itself as a safe place for "sensitive niches". ICANN sent it breach notices, then terminated its accreditation in 2026. One reason given: it acted weeks after phishing reports. We act fast on the four exceptions, and we say so.

Read the acceptable use policy or report abuse.

No-KYC domains: FAQ

Do I need an ID to buy a domain at BuyDomainsCrypto?

No. BuyDomainsCrypto never asks for a passport, an ID card, a selfie, a phone check or documents, at any amount. You need a working email: the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). Payment is in crypto only (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC), so there is no card check either, and no bank details to give.

Does no KYC mean nobody can know who owns the domain?

No. No KYC means private, not hidden from the law. We collect one email per domain, verified as ICANN requires. With WHOIS privacy, it stays out of public lookups where the registry allows it. It only goes out on a Panamanian court order or an urgent request that ICANN rules require registrars to answer, and in a UDRP case it is confirmed to the dispute provider, as ICANN requires.

Can I use a fake name or a fake address?

No need. We only ask for one email per domain, and it must work, because ICANN rules require us to verify it: a fake or dead email gets the domain suspended. Nothing else is collected. Turn on WHOIS privacy to keep the email out of public lookups: it is free where the registry allows it.

Which registrars require ID verification?

As of 8 October 2026, Porkbun asks a subset of new accounts for a photo ID through Veriff, per its knowledge base. Namecheap's terms allow an ID and selfie check in disputes or abuse cases. Some registries also check identity: .dk, .cn, .ru and .in. BuyDomainsCrypto does not sell those four extensions and never asks for ID.

Can I register a .us or .eu domain at BuyDomainsCrypto?

No. The .us registry requires a US link (nexus) and forbids WHOIS privacy; .eu requires EU/EEA citizenship, residency or establishment. Both need more than an email, so BuyDomainsCrypto does not sell them. Our rule is one email per domain, nothing else. The .us and .eu pages explain why, and a .com is open to anyone.

Do I need an email to buy a domain?

Yes. Every registrar that follows ICANN rules must verify the registrant email. So a domain without a working email is not possible on .com, .net, .org or any gTLD. At BuyDomainsCrypto, we collect one email per domain, nothing else. It is kept private and used for the ICANN verification and for renewal and security messages.

What happens if someone reports my domain for abuse?

It depends on the report. Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims lead to suspension within 24 hours of a well-documented report, and child sexual abuse material immediately, with a report to the competent hotline or authority. Any other complaint, such as copyright, defamation or a competitor's claim, needs a Panamanian court decision: a complaint alone does not suspend your domain. Trademark disputes follow the UDRP.
