What happens to your money when a registration fails, when a domain is registered, and when a payment goes wrong. One prepaid balance, clear rules.

**Quick answer — Can I get a refund on a domain paid in crypto?**

**BuyDomainsCrypto**, a no-KYC domain registration service paid in crypto, does not refund registered domains: the registry fee is paid the moment a domain is registered. Failed orders are covered: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. Top-ups start at $25, and unused balance never expires but is not refundable. For an overpayment, a wrong amount or a wrong network, email support with the coin, the network, the amount and the time.

## Refund rules at a glance

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Registered domains | Not refundable: the registry fee is paid at registration |
| Renewals and completed transfers | Not refundable, for the same reason |
| Failed registration | if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance |
| Balance | Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, but it is not refundable |
| Minimum top-up | $25 |
| Refunds in crypto | None: balance is not paid back out |
| Overpayment or wrong amount | Email support with the coin, network, exact amount and time; we find the transaction on the blockchain |
| Wrong network | Funds may be lost. Email support at once with the coin, network, amount and time; recovery is not guaranteed |
| Suspension for abuse | No refund |
| Chargebacks | Not possible: a crypto payment cannot be reversed by the sender |
| Identity check | None: no ID, no selfie, no documents |

## Can I get a refund on a domain I registered?

No. When a domain is registered, the registry charges for it at once, and that fee cannot be recovered. Renewals and completed transfers are not refundable for the same reason.

Check before you order:

- **The spelling** of the name in the cart.
- **The number of years.** A .ai domain is sold 2 years at a time, at $81.99/year per year.
- **The extension's rules.** For example, .ai is sold 2 years at a time, and .app and .dev require HTTPS. Each [extension page](https://buydomainscrypto.com/tld/) lists its rules.

Prices for every extension are on the [pricing page](https://buydomainscrypto.com/pricing/).

## What happens when a registration fails?

Failed orders are covered: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. The amount is available at once for another name, a renewal or a transfer.

A registration can fail for three usual reasons:

- **The name was taken** between your search and your order. Registration is first-come, first-served.
- **Availability was confirmed at order.** For some extensions, such as .io, .co and .me, the live search cannot confirm availability before the order.
- **The registry refused it**, for example because an eligibility rule was not met.

The order status in the client area shows each step: *Awaiting payment*, *Verifying*, *Processing* and *Active*. A failed order is marked as such.

## What happens to my unused balance?

Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, but it is not refundable.

The balance is in US dollars. It never expires, so money you do not spend today pays a renewal next year or a transfer later. It is not paid back out in crypto, so top up what you plan to use. The minimum top-up is $25, and a .com costs $11.49/year.

With auto-renew on, renewals are paid from the balance before a domain expires. Keep enough balance to cover the domains you want to keep. How top-ups work is explained on [how it works](https://buydomainscrypto.com/how-it-works/).

## What if I sent the wrong amount or used the wrong network?

Email support@buydomainscrypto.com at once, with:

- the order reference;
- the coin, the network and the exact amount sent;
- the time you sent it, with your timezone.

We never ask for your TXID or your wallet address. We find the transaction on the blockchain and tell you what can be done.

- **Wrong amount:** write to us even if the amount is only slightly off. The exact amount is how a payment is matched to your order.
- **Rate lock expired:** the exchange rate is locked for 30 minutes. If you sent after that, write to support with the amount and the time.
- **Wrong network:** we accept USDT only on Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20), and USDC only on Ethereum (ERC-20). Funds sent on BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base or another network may be lost. We cannot promise to recover them.

Each coin and network is explained on [pay with crypto](https://buydomainscrypto.com/pay-with/).

## Is there a refund after a suspension for abuse?

No. A domain suspended for phishing, malware, fraud or any other breach of the [Acceptable Use Policy](https://buydomainscrypto.com/acceptable-use/) is not refunded. The registry fee has been paid, and the domain was used against the rules every customer accepts.

## Can I dispute a crypto payment like a card chargeback?

No. A crypto payment goes straight from your wallet to the address on the payment page, with no card issuer or bank in between. Only the receiver can send funds back. This policy is the remedy instead: failed registrations go back to your balance in full.

## Refunds and balance: FAQ

### Can I cancel a domain right after I register it?

No. BuyDomainsCrypto pays the registry as soon as a domain is registered, and that fee is not returned. A registered domain is therefore not refundable, even if you cancel a few minutes later. Check the spelling, the extension and the number of years in the cart before you confirm. You can let the domain expire by turning auto-renew off.

### What if the domain I paid for is taken before it is registered?

You get the money back on your balance. Failed orders are covered: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. The amount is available at once for another name. This can happen when someone registers the name first. It can also happen on extensions where availability is confirmed at order, such as .io, .co and .me.

### Can I withdraw my balance in crypto?

No. The balance pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, and it is not paid back out in crypto. It never expires, so it stays available for next year's renewals. The minimum top-up is $25. Top up what you plan to spend, and keep enough to cover the domains you want to renew.

### Does my BuyDomainsCrypto balance expire?

No. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers, but it is not refundable. The balance is kept in US dollars, so its value does not move with the price of the coin you paid with. With auto-renew on, renewals are paid from it automatically before each domain expires.

### I sent USDT on BNB Chain by mistake. Can you recover it?

We cannot promise it. BuyDomainsCrypto accepts USDT only on Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20). Funds sent on BNB Chain (BEP-20), Polygon or another network may be lost. Email support at once with the amount, the network and the time you sent it. We check the transaction and tell you whether anything can be done.

### I paid more than the order total. What happens to the extra?

Email support@buydomainscrypto.com with the order reference, the exact amount and the time you sent it. We check the transaction on the blockchain and reply by email with what was received and how it is handled. Always send the exact amount shown on the payment page: it is how a payment is matched to your order.

### Can I get a refund on a renewal I no longer need?

No. Once a domain is renewed, the registry fee is paid and the renewal is not refundable. To stop a renewal, turn auto-renew off for that domain in the client area before the renewal date. The domain then expires at the end of its current period, and nothing more is taken from your balance.

### Do I need to prove my identity to ask about a payment?

No. BuyDomainsCrypto never asks for ID, a selfie or documents, for payments or anything else. We find your payment with the order reference and its exact amount. We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat. If someone asks for these in our name, forward the message to abuse@buydomainscrypto.com.

**A question about a payment?** Email support with the order reference and the amount. No ID needed, ever. [Contact support](https://buydomainscrypto.com/contact/) · [See all prices](https://buydomainscrypto.com/pricing/)
